ME³ To Participate in Strike for Survival 2007
August 26, 2007

Strike for Survival is back for its third year of fundraising for the American Cancer Society and bigger than ever. Three locations, two nights and 500
bowlers big. “Our goal this year is to raise $28,000,” said Bob Liddle, founder of the community-wide effort to further cancer research. “We have
tripled our capacity in response to demand.”

Strike for Survival has generated $20,000 in donations in the past two years and has sold out registration well in advance of the event. Just as
important, Strike for Survival has provided a way for parents to teach their children how even the smallest among us can make a big impact, a
message that ME³, of course, fully supports.  “It’s so important to teach the next generation the value of giving and living beyond self interests,”
said Strike for Survival sponsor Andy Borter of Charter Funding.
This year, ME³ will be assisting in obtaining prizes for the event, as well as staffing all three
locations as volunteers to assist bowlers, serve food, and ensure the event runs smoothly.  “This is
our third year of involvement with Strike for Survival,” said Amber Smith of ME³. “We consider it an
honor to be asked to serve.”

“This is such a rewarding endeavor,” said Liddle. “The community has been incredibly supportive.
So much so, that we plan to continue to expand every year. Look for nine bowling locations next
year!”

Those interested in
sponsoring this year’s Strike for Survival have until September 1st to be
included in the event. Sponsorship levels range from $100 to $2500 and are available to families,
schools, businesses and organizations.

Those interested in taking part in the fun should
register early. Last year’s Strike for Survival sold
out three weeks before the event.

Strike for Survival will be held on Friday, September 21st and Saturday, September 22nd from 6:00
pm to 9:00 pm. Three locations include Pleasant Valley Bowling Lanes and Capital AMF Lanes in
Raleigh and South Hills AMF Lanes in Cary. For $25, bowlers enjoy two games, pizza, soft drinks, a
goodie bag filled with t-shirt, water bottle, koozie and a $20 gift certificate to dine at Rocky Top
Restaurant’s new 1705PRIME Chophouse in Raleigh. Fred Flintstone will entertain and all bowlers
are eligible to win valuable raffle prizes. Register at
