ME³ Hosts Community Engagement Forum January 28, 2008
ME³ will host a community engagement forum for an audience of individuals, especially college students, living Wake County on Wednesday, February 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The forum will take place in the North Gallery of Talley Student Center on the campus of North Carolina State University.
ME³ board members Sarah Johnson and Charlie Chrisawn are coordinating the forum, which is part of a series of forums taking place across several southern states designed by the Southern Growth Policies Board. With sponsorship from NC State's Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, and Public Service (CSLEPS), forum participants will discuss many topics related to student engagement in community and civic issues and volunteerism, and have the opportunity to interact with guest speaker forum panelists from local organizations and companies. Refreshments will also be provided to forum guests at no cost.
Forum guests will also be given the opportunity to get involved in taking on local community issues by signing up for ME³'s Communities In Action program, which connects individuals living in Wake County to volunteer opportunities with local organizations that need their help based on the individual's skills, interests, and schedules.
